Electrical Superintendent

Job Title: MEP Specialist / Lead Electrical Superintendent Job Description The MEP Specialist / Lead Electrical Superintendent oversees electrical construction activities for data center projects across multiple U.S. locations. This role focuses on power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and related mechanical and MEP components, while leveraging strong computer skills to manage schedules, documentation, and coordination. The position requires frequent travel between project sites and close collaboration with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities

- Thoroughly understand the project schedule, overall scope, and electrical and MEP requirements for each data center site.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the project schedule daily using Touchplan or similar scheduling tools.
- Collaborate with the Project Scheduler and Project Manager to develop progress schedules, including detailed two-week look-ahead plans.
- Prepare and distribute accurate daily logs and project documentation using Procore.
- Coordinate and schedule all necessary inspections and ensure timely completion.
- Prepare agendas and lead regular construction meetings to review progress, issues, and upcoming work.
- Enforce site safety policies, security protocols, and visitor access procedures at all times.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards and workmanship for all finished electrical and MEP installations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Site Utilization plan to optimize logistics, material storage, and workflow.
- Maintain a detailed phone log and communication records related to project activities.
- Prepare and manage pre-punch list items to support efficient project closeout.
- Work closely with the Project Site Engineer to load and maintain all pertinent project information in Procore.
- Provide site safety training to project personnel and enforce safety compliance on the job site.
- Conduct weekly tool box talks focused on safety, procedures, and best practices.
- Secure and manage any required hot work permits for project activities.
- Lead and supervise on-site teams, including subcontractors, to ensure coordinated electrical and MEP construction.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in the field and support commissioning activities for data center systems.
- Coordinate work related to switchgear, UPS systems, CRAH units, power distribution, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Support subcontractor management by monitoring performance, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Interpret and use construction blueprints and schedules to plan and sequence work effectively.

Essential Skills

- 710 years of experience in electrical construction, construction supervision, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and substation-related work.
- Proven experience leading teams in a site supervisor or construction management role.
- Experience working on data center projects and familiarity with data center infrastructure.
- Very strong computer skills, including proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and digital scheduling tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction schedules, progress plans, and project documentation.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce and promote a strong safety culture on construction sites.
- Experience in commercial construction and MEP engineering, including HVAC and CRAH units.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in subcontractor management and construction supervision.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems in the field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Data center experience is beneficial and preferred but not strictly required.
- Willingness to travel between multiple project sites is helpful and strongly valued.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and practices.
- Experience with mechanical systems and MEP coordination, including HVAC and CRAH units.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes for data centers and complex electrical systems.
- Experience with project management practices in construction environments.
- Comfort working with site engineers and project schedulers to manage digital project platforms.
- Ability to prepare meeting agendas, daily logs, and structured reports for project stakeholders.

Work Environment This is an on-site role based across multiple data center projects, including locations in Northern Virginia, Dallas (TX), Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL), Phoenix (AZ), Mississippi, and Las Vegas (NV). The position involves frequent travel between these sites, with travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and related costs provided. Work is performed in active construction environments that include electrical rooms, mechanical spaces, and data hall areas with switchgear, UPS systems, CRAH units, and other MEP equipment. The schedule aligns with typical construction site hours, with flexibility required to meet project milestones and inspection timelines. The role operates within a professional, safety-focused culture that emphasizes thorough documentation, use of digital tools such as Procore and Touchplan, and close coordination among project teams. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $135000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
