Technician 1 / Technician 2 – Power | Pearland, TX

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Technician 1 or Technician 2 – Power based in Pearland, TX. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on our natural gas power generation equipment.

This is primarily a shop-based role working with Jenbacher generators ranging from approximately 350 kW to 1,800 kW. Whether you bring natural gas experience or a strong diesel power generation background, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your expertise through hands-on training with Jenbacher equipment and controls.

What you’ll do as an Aggreko Technician

- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on Jenbacher natural gas generators and 12- and 16-cylinder industrial engines.
- Complete mechanical service and repairs including oil and filter changes, valve recession work, and component-level repairs such as heads, valves, and piston rings based on experience level.
- Troubleshoot generator electrical systems and components including alternators, batteries and starting systems, voltage regulators, breakers, and control panels.
- Read and work from wiring diagrams and electrical schematics, with Tech 2-level technicians troubleshooting 480V three-phase systems .
- Work primarily from our Pearland service center, with occasional Saturday work and the potential for limited field-support travel after your first six months.

You are:

- Experienced working with power generators, diesel or natural gas engines, or comparable industrial engine equipment ; Cummins, Waukesha, or Jenbacher experience is a plus.
- Comfortable performing preventive maintenance, engine troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs; strong diesel power generation technicians are encouraged to apply .
- Bringing basic troubleshooting skills at the Tech 1 level, or deeper diagnostic experience at the Tech 2 level, including valve recession, component-level engine repairs, and 480V three-phase electrical troubleshooting.
- Able to read wiring diagrams and schematics, or, at the Tech 1 level, have the mechanical aptitude and foundation to develop those skills through training.
- Safety-focused, dependable, and available to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM , with occasional Saturday work.

Other essential job requirements

- Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations if needed, and work outside regularly scheduled shifts when required.
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods and walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require special assistive devices.
- Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that permits work to be safely performed from ground/floor level to full overhead level.
- Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and sufficient grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.
- Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, including lifting 60 lbs., pushing/pulling 80 lbs., carrying 60 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, climbing while carrying 15 lbs., stooping, kneeling and squatting.
