We are seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist to join our team on a one-year temporary contract, working in a primarily remote environment.

The Senior Compensation Specialist plays a key role in shaping and supporting compensation programs across BWXT’s U.S. operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Compensation, this position helps maintain competitive, equitable, and well‑governed compensation practices. You will lead the annual non‑union, non‑executive merit and incentive cycles and support salary structure updates, market pricing, and survey administration. This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with HRIS, Payroll, HR teams, business leaders, and external consultants to ensure compensation processes run smoothly, accurately, and on time.

Your Day‑to‑Day as the Senior Compensation Specialist

- Lead and coordinate the annual merit and Salaried Employee Incentive Plan (SEIP) cycles, ensuring accurate eligibility, data validation, and system readiness.

- Partner with HRIS to configure, test, and maintain SuccessFactors compensation planning tools.

- Audit and validate compensation data in SAP and offline templates, ensuring accuracy before payroll deadlines.

- Support compensation communication materials, including timelines, planning instructions, and manager resources.

- Conduct market pricing and benchmark reviews to maintain competitive compensation positioning.

- Provide guidance on compensation inquiries and support governance of job architecture across U.S. operations.

- Coordinate and submit salary surveys, analyze market results, and provide insights to support compensation decisions.

- Participate in compensation initiatives and cross‑functional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

- Minimum 5+ years of compensation experience, including leading large‑scale annual planning cycles and market pricing.

- Working toward CCP designation is preferred.

- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capabilities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.

- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced environments with shifting priorities.

- Comfortable navigating evolving technologies, including AI‑enabled tools.

- Demonstrated ability to manage confidentiality, apply sound judgment, and take initiative.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000and $118,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
