Job Description & Summary
The Opportunity

As a SALT VAT Tax Manager you will lead client service work focused on value-added tax, goods and services tax, sales tax, and other indirect tax matters, helping clients navigate tax planning, compliance, and strategy within our Tax Services practice. As a Manager you will guide teams, coach staff, and manage engagement workstreams while using sound judgment, business knowledge, and technology to deliver timely, accurate client work. In this role at PwC, you will oversee indirect tax projects, review deliverables, identify planning and compliance opportunities, and bring clarity to complex VAT issues while supporting client relationships and the growth of your team.

Responsibilities

- Advising clients on state and local indirect tax matters, including VAT planning, compliance, and controversy support
- Leading client service workstreams across indirect tax engagements, setting timelines, prioritizing deliverables, and tracking progress
- Reviewing complex VAT return preparation, documentation, and tax accounting inputs for accuracy and completeness
- Guiding tax research and technical analysis to interpret indirect tax rules and apply them to client fact patterns
- Coordinating with clients to gather transaction data, clarify business operations, and identify indirect tax exposures
- Developing and mentoring team members through review feedback, coaching, and technical knowledge sharing
- Managing multiple engagements at once while balancing scope, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations
- Identifying opportunities to use tax technology and digital tools to improve indirect tax compliance and reporting processes
- Addressing client issues, escalating technical matters when needed, and supporting resolution of indirect tax controversies

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 4 years of experience
- At least one of the following: Certified Public Accountant, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity

Job Posting End Date

The salary range for this position is: $99,000 - $266,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
