Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineering Manager to lead the M270 Launchers program in Arlington, TX. Reporting to the Launchers Program Quality Sr. Manager, the incumbent will provide strategic managerial oversight for program‑wide quality processes, data analytics, talent development, training, and knowledge continuity across the program’s product lines.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Quality across the programs life-cycle including proposals, contract review, start-up, development, transition to production, production and support. You will serve on the program area Risk and Opportunity Review Boards; nominates risks and opportunities. Ensures Quality Assurance Plans are documented, current and implemented. Schedule and ensures assessments of program (e.g. quality audits). Participate in independent program reviews to understand risks and drive Return to Green plans. Maintains a DCMA/Customer quality relationship. Establishes and maintains effective Quality Program Team business rhythm.
Your focus will be on standardizing processes, mitigating risk, and leveraging metrics for continuous improvement. By transforming quality data into actionable innovation, you will reduce costs through prevention, enhance first‑time‑right deliveries, and strengthen global customer confidence. The position also emphasizes fostering cross‑functional collaboration around shared quality principles and requires flexibility to work overtime, irregular hours, and weekends to meet critical milestones.
Responsibilities
* Lead the quality team; recruit, hire, and mentor quality professionals.
* Define, enforce, and continuously improve program quality standards and best‑practice processes across all product lines.
* Perform technical evaluations of requirements, specifications, drawings, and procedures; optimize and manage inspection and testing methods; conduct statistical analyses to verify conformance.
* Lead/facilitate product‑failure investigations, material‑review‑board decisions, and corrective‑/preventive‑action (CAPA) activities, ensuring corrective measures meet reliability and regulatory criteria.
* Support internal and external audits; oversee corrective‑action implementation at all partner sites.
* Develop and implement strategies, metrics, and systems that raise internal and supplier performance, prevent rework/recalls, and achieve cost avoidance.
Basic Qualifications
* US Citizen and current interim Secret clearance
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
* Leadership experience directing quality, manufacturing, and continuous‑improvement initiatives in a production environment, with documented outcomes such as defect‑reduction, cost‑saving, or schedule‑adherence metrics
* Demonstrated experience applying quality‑system principles and driving measurable process improvements in a manufacturing setting
* Proven experience establishing and maintaining positive supplier and customer interfaces to facilitate collaborative problem‑solving and sustain quality performance
* Successful experience establishing and maintaining positive interfaces with suppliers and customers, fostering collaborative working relationships
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently, assume accountability, and lead cross‑functional teams
Desired Skills
* Strong presence and written/oral communication abilities, with a track record of influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional teams
* Skilled in planning, leading, and supporting scheduled program reviews (e.g., First Article Inspection, Production Readiness Review, Product Line Validation, Program Management Review)
* Extensive knowledge of MFC systems, product lines, manufacturing sites, and supplier operations
* Strong presence and communication skills; able to clearly articulate complex technical issues and solutions to senior leadership
* Hands‑on experience establishing or maturing a quality‑management system for a production‑line startup, from concept through execution
* Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and making sound decisions with incomplete data
* Proven ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of cross‑functional MFC teams, including leading projects
* Familiarity with SAP/APRISO and the DD250 process
* Experience working with U.S. Government customers and the Defense Contract Management Agency
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
