Quality Lab Supervisor

The Quality Lab Supervisor leads and oversees quality control operations while managing a team of Quality Assurance Techs who ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities to maintain the highest quality standards across all production processes.

Job Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of QA Technicians IIs.
- Assign daily work activities, prioritize testing schedules, and manage resource allocation
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs
- Foster a culture of Printpack Core Values

Quality Operations:

- Oversee hands-on testing of materials using various test equipment and analytical methods
- Review and validate test data and analysis performed by team members
- Make critical go/no-go decisions for material releases and product approvals
- Lead defect containment efforts and coordinate corrective action responses

Technical & Compliance Leadership:

- Maintain expertise in testing methodologies, equipment operation, and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and customer specifications
- Oversee calibration programs and equipment maintenance schedules
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex quality issues
- Lead investigations into product defects or process failures, implementing Corrective and Preventative Actions.
- Participate in internal/external audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Communication & Collaboration:

- Interface with Production, Support Staff, and other departments on quality matters
- Communicate test results, quality issues, and recommendations to management
- Participate in cross-functional teams for problem-solving and process improvements
- Maintain accurate records in computer systems and quality management software

Continuous Improvement:

- Lead and participate in safety programs and quality improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains
- Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
- Support the development and implementation of new testing procedures
