Required Hours: 48 hours every 6 weeks, including
- 24 weekend hours
- 24 hours annually of difficult-to-staff shifts
- 12 hours annually of holiday hours
Shift and weekend differential pay eligible
Department hours: Monday - Friday 5:30am-7:00pm
Call available 7:00pm-7:00am weekly and 7:00am-7:00am weekends
Department Summary
Our 16-bay PACU specializes in the recovery of surgical patients following anesthesia, providing expert Phase I recovery and often Phase II care. Team members collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and inpatient units to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a dynamic environment. In addition to postoperative recovery, the PACU cares for patients undergoing procedures that require anesthesia or sedation, ensuring safe monitoring and recovery across a broad range of patient populations and procedural settings.
General Summary
Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level within an assigned unit according to established procedures, protocols and regulations. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Diploma Program Required or
- Associates Degree Required
- Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
Licenses:
- Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required and
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
