The Role

Moderna is looking for a strong candidate to support the Contract Operations Team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely implementation of Market Access contracts and payments while leading improvements to processes and collaboration across teams.

The Manager, Market Access Contract Operations will work closely with Moderna’s US Commercial organization and external partners to manage contract-related activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and able to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. This role requires adaptability to support a growing portfolio, a focus on compliance, and a commitment to achieving Moderna’s goals.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will vary and may include contract implementation and maintenance, pricing, customer eligibility and membership, chargebacks, and rebates. The Manager will combine hands-on execution with process oversight, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement.

- Own and directly execute implementation and maintenance activities within assigned areas, translating executed contract terms into accurate system setup and operational requirements.
- Oversee accurate and timely payments for Chargebacks and Rebates within assigned areas and ensure effective resolution of any disputes in partnership with internal teams and external Wholesaler partners.
- Manage outsourced Contract Operations services, where applicable, by holding service providers accountable for delivering high-quality results and meeting company standards.
- Design and perform quality-assurance, reconciliation, and monitoring processes across internal systems and external partner data; investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive resolution.
- Build strong collaboration with internal teams (Commercial Operations, Finance, Digital, and Sales) and external partners (Wholesalers/Distributors and Contract Owners) to ensure smooth workflows and transparency.
- Lead the creation and reporting of operational metrics and dashboards covering timeliness, backlog and aging, data quality, issue trends, payment activities, and service-provider performance, as applicable, providing insights that drive better decisions and improve performance.
- Ensure all SOX controls are met and documented, and provide support for audits and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain scalable operating procedures, controls, workflow governance, logs, training materials, and business-continuity practices for assigned Contract Operations activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by streamlining contracting processes and enhancing operational efficiency to meet stakeholder needs.
- Responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to improve data validation, analysis, and operational efficiency, while applying appropriate human judgment and adhering to company policies and data governance requirements.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in contract management, pricing, or Market Access in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of contract administration or revenue management systems and processes relevant to the assigned area, such as Pricing, Customer Eligibility, Membership management, Chargebacks, or Rebates. Model N experience preferred.
- Experience managing operational processes and driving accountability for results across internal teams and external partners.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

- Expertise in Contract Operations: Strong understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical market dynamics, including pricing, reimbursement, and contracting.
- Proficiency in interpreting and operationalizing executed contract terms to meet business needs.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and contract governance processes.

- Data and Systems: Strong Excel, reporting, dashboard, and data-analysis skills; experience with system enhancements, testing, automation, or AI tools is a plus.

- Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and hold external partners accountable for outcomes.
- Proven track record in driving process improvements and creating innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- Experience building strong relationships across teams to align priorities and achieve goals.

- Problem-Solving and Communication: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Confidence in negotiating and influencing outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is $109,200.00 - $174,600.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
