Chief Enterprise Architect

## Position Summary

The Chief Enterprise Architect provides enterprise-wide leadership for technology architecture, standards, and strategy, ensuring technology investments support business priorities and measurable outcomes. This role defines and drives the organization’s target-state architecture and multi-year roadmap, balancing innovation and speed with governance, simplification, security, sustainability, and risk management.

Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer, the Chief Enterprise Architect leads the Enterprise Architecture function and serves as a strategic advisor to senior technology and business leaders. The role establishes architecture and technology standards, leads architectural and artificial intelligence governance, and helps ensure technology decisions enable growth, optimize cost, reduce complexity, and manage risk. The Chief Enterprise Architect also leads and develops a team of Enterprise Architects responsible for key technology domains.

This position is ideally based in Mentor, Ohio and operates in a hybrid work environment. While proximity to the office is preferred, remote candidates may be considered.
## What You'll Do As a Chief Enterprise Architect

- Define and lead the enterprise architecture strategy, target-state architecture, technology standards, and multi-year roadmap.
- Lead architecture governance and the Architecture Review Board.
- Establish and oversee responsible AI governance, risk, compliance, and technology standards.
- Guide application and technology portfolio rationalization, modernization, and lifecycle decisions.
- Partner with senior leaders on technology investments, emerging technologies, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Support technology strategy and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Enterprise Architecture team while promoting consistent standards and best practices across the organization.

## The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, including technology and architecture leadership experience.
- Experience defining enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, standards, and governance.
- Broad expertise across cloud, integration and APIs, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and application lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with senior executives.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing technical or architecture teams.

Preferred

- Experience with responsible AI governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Experience leading enterprise technology modernization initiatives.
- Experience in medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
- Familiarity with FDA, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, GDPR, or similar regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions and technology integration.
- Enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, or AI certifications, such as TOGAF

Pay range for this opportunity is $194,650 - $251,900. This position is also Long-Term-Incentive and Bonus eligible.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
