Work Schedule : Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.


The Opportunity
At Ally, the Engineer - Physical Security Field Technician plays a critical role in protecting our people, facilities, and assets through the implementation, maintenance, and advancement of enterprise security technologies. This position provides hands-on expertise across access control, video management, surveillance, and security infrastructure while partnering with project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative physical security solutions. The Work Itself

- Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and support physical security systems including access control, video management, surveillance cameras, credentialing systems, power supplies, and related infrastructure.
- Interface access control and video management systems with internal networks, including server connectivity and system programming.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Support security technology projects by working closely with project managers, engineers, third-party integrators, and business partners to complete assignments on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee, direct, and inspect work completed by external integrators and provide guidance to junior technicians when needed.
- Install and support cabling infrastructure including CAT6, CAT6A, coaxial, fiber optic, and other communication technologies.
- Recognize, assess, document, escalate, and respond appropriately to security incidents, safety concerns, unauthorized access events, and operational disruptions.
- Participate in security assessments, operational security activities, emergency response efforts, facility inspections, and incident management activities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, job sign-offs, as-built records, and other required reports.
- Successfully obtain and maintain required security, safety, emergency response, compliance, and product certifications applicable to the role.
- Support emergency situations, including employee evacuations and security-related response activities, while helping ensure the safety of personnel and facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience as a security integrator field technician or in a similar physical security technology role.
- Experience supporting enterprise access control, video management, surveillance, and integrated physical security systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Genetec Synergis, Omnicast, AutoVu, Axis Cameras, Hanwha Cameras, HID readers, credentialing systems, LifeSafety Power solutions, and related security technologies.
- Experience with fiber optic installation, connector termination, low-voltage cabling, and network-connected security devices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical diagnostic skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel domestically as needed.
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders, working in varying weather conditions, and supporting operational security activities, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to obtain and maintain required manufacturer, security, and safety certifications within established timeframes.

- Ability to effectively perform duties in a variety of work environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, construction areas, and varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to meet job-related physical requirements, including lifting and carrying equipment or materials as required by the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to perform operational security duties, with or without reasonable accommodation, which may include extended periods of standing or walking, movement between locations, facility inspections, security patrols, emergency response coordination, and incident management activities.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations, which may include rapidly traversing multiple flights of stairs, assisting employees during evacuations, providing physical support or guidance when necessary, and helping ensure the safe and orderly movement of personnel during emergency events.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, which may include movement throughout company facilities, conducting security assessments, supporting operational activities, participating in emergency response procedures, and carrying out assigned security responsibilities.

Additional Requirements:

In addition to the requirements applicable to all Physical Security roles, candidates must be able to:

- Ability to kneel, stand, squat, and/or sit for long periods.
- Ability to bend down and lift 50 lbs. above head
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use fine motor skills to adjust small wires, screws, dipswitches.
- Ability to see and read fine print on electronic circuitry.
- Ability to smell burnt circuitry or electronics.
- Ability to hear relay clicks, electronic pops, etc.
- Must be able to periodically work on evenings and/or weekends

- 1+ years of experience
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Base Pay Range
$65,000.00 - $115,000.00

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.


Incentive Compensation:

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
