Job Summary:

The R&D Scientist is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the companies' chemistry R&D program and resources. This includes both internal and client initiated development activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Works closely with the Director, Chemistry to develop, update and prioritize the companies R&D program

- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the companies R & D program, ensuring both internal and external deliverables and deadlines are met

- Day-to-day supervision of the R&D Technicians and other resources allocated to the R&D function

- Works closely with other scientist to ensure the company leverages its resident knowledge

- Responsible for liaison with clients on R & D activities including providing regular status reports, meetings etc

- Works closely with the Manager, Data Integrity and Quality Systems Manager to ensure that all newly developed / modified methods are promptly documented and integrated within our Quality / LIMS systems. This will also include timely submission to our accreditor(s) for addition to our external accreditation(s) as appropriate. Report on the status of R & D program / projects during administrative meetings (e.g. ARC)

- Train technologist/technician / analyst to implement new / modified methods as necessary

- Has the Authorization to stop the work, to approve planned deviations, and to submit reports to clients

- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

- Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times

- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

- 5 years of industry experience

- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field, preferred

- M.Sc and significant related experience

- GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS experience required

- Pesticide Residue Analysis experience

- Method Development and Validation experience
