Advanced Accounting Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, this role supports core accounting activities tied to financial processes, including month-end close margin analysis, reporting, and accruals. The position plays an important role in the financial close by preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and partnering with cross-functional teams and affiliated entities to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective internal controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support core accounting activities related to month-end and year-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare journal entries for a variety of transactions, such as accruals, reclasses, intercompany activity, and other recurring or ad hoc entries.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate margin variances, and help identify potential financial impacts in a timely manner.
- Support internal control processes and documentation to help ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliation and follow-up on differences with domestic and international affiliates.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, clarity, and controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ Years of experience in accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or a related field (required)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)
- Profit & Loss Analysis experience, including comparing plan versus actual, accruals, and related journal entries. (preferred)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties
- Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret, and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
- Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to questions or issues
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles under IFRS and U.S. GAAP
- Advanced knowledge of financial systems and software (Oracle EPM experience a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to and effectively manage change.
- Kaizen mindset with the ability to apply the PDCA (Plan ‑ Do ‑ Check ‑ Act) approach.
- Must also possess an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, J-SOX, etc.)

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $101,000
