The position plays a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive experience for every patient throughout their visit. Responsibilities

- Prepare exam rooms before each patient visit by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Clean and reset rooms between patients to maintain a safe, sanitary, and professional clinical environment.
- Accurately document patient information in charts, including updates to medical history, vital signs, and visit details.
- Use the electronic medical record system (Epic) to enter, update, and review patient data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Schedule patient appointments, including new visits, follow-ups, and other necessary services, while coordinating with providers and staff.
- Make follow-up calls to patients to confirm appointments, relay instructions, and support continuity of care.
- Support providers and clinical staff with day-to-day tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain an organized workday.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and colleagues to support a respectful and supportive care environment.

Essential Skills

- Medical assisting experience in a clinical or primary care setting.
- Ability to use Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system or similar healthcare documentation software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate patient charts and manage multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant (MA) Diploma.
- Ability to perform duties without requiring a professional license, as no license is needed for this role.

Work Environment This role is based in a primary care office that operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment is patient-facing and fast-paced, with frequent interaction with patients, providers, and clinical staff. You will regularly use the Epic electronic medical record system and other office equipment to support scheduling, documentation, and communication. The position involves working in exam rooms and clinical areas that require consistent cleanliness and organization. Professional attire appropriate for a medical office is expected, and you will spend portions of the day both on your feet preparing rooms and at a workstation completing charting and scheduling tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
