Job Summary:
The HR Market Director facilitates human resource functions for assigned markets. This role provides both regional leadership and direct operational HR support, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, legal compliance, and best practices. The incumbent oversees HR team members, supports and guides HR Business Managers/Partners, partners closely with regional and senior leadership, and serves as a key driver of HR initiatives, to include employee relations, performance management, engagement, and compliance initiatives across the markets.

Essential Job Functions:
Leadership & Strategy
- Partners closely with the market leadership to lead, implement, and champion human resource strategies and initiatives, ensuring successful execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Demonstrate commitment to both short-term and long-term organizational goals and champion change initiatives.
- Manages the implementation of market HR policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with organizational mission and talent strategy.
- Collaborate with market CEO, COO, Vice President of Human Resources, and senior leadership to support workforce planning, retention, and organizational development.
- Serve as a liaison and collaborative member of the market People & Culture Team and provide backup support in the absence of the Vice President of Human Resources.
People Management & Supervision
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise HR team members within the assigned market.
- Oversee daily workflow of the market HR function and ensure effective workload distribution.
- Provide constructive, timely performance evaluations and ongoing coaching.
- Address employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy and employment law.
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Manage and enforce HR-related policies, procedures, and programs across assigned market.
- Provide guidance and support to HR Business Managers/Partners and local leadership on employee relations, performance management, and engagement matters.
- Assist with and/or lead internal investigations, collaborating with leadership and HR Business Managers/Partners to develop corrective action plans when necessary.
- Administer and oversee HR programs including performance management, workplace culture initiatives, occupational health and safety, and employee engagement.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies; communicate and implement updates as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audits, surveys, and compliance reviews for assigned market.
Training & Development
- Partners with business leaders to align and integrate system-wide and business-specific training and development programs, ensuring they support organizational and business objectives and that employees complete all required training.
- Facilitate onboarding, orientation, professional development, and certification opportunities for HR team members within the market.
- Serve as a knowledge resource by training new HR team members and supporting cross-functional HR initiatives.
Collaboration & Travel
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with team members, people leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Travel regularly to sites within assigned market to provide in-person support and leadership presence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Strong capability to lead through influence, champion change, and engage stakeholders to successfully implement HR programs and organizational initiatives.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and change-management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and compliance.
- Prior people management or supervisory experience preferred.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) preferred.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all employees.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.
- Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
- Involve, as appropriate, all employees to achieve their goals.
- Effectively communicate to employees about any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
- Manage difficult employee situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual.
- Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of innovative ideas.
- Reinforce team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.

- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
