Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Powertrain Controls Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced powertrain functionalities. This role involves defining system requirements, developing control function architectures, and implementing innovative features. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with functional safety standards and deliver high-quality embedded software solutions. Travel (including international)—estimated at around 20%—may be required to support development, testing, and cross-site collaboration, depending on project demands.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end systems engineering process for powertrain functionalities, including requirements definition, analysis, and system development.

- Design and implement new features and functions in collaboration with the architecture team.

- Develop and maintain control function architectures.

- Conduct and participate in software peer reviews and functional safety assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards.

- Provide technical leadership in the development of advanced technologies.

- Collaborate with systems engineers and subject matter experts to define and negotiate functional and performance requirements.

- Support testing and validation activities by troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues, and verifying that implemented features meet defined requirements.

- Drive continuous improvement in embedded software development processes, including model-based design (Simulink) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field

- 7+ years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in controls development and systems engineering

- Strong understanding of embedded systems and control architectures.

- Proficiency in model-based development tools such as Simulink.

- Experience with HIL testing and embedded software validation.

- Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
