Description

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle and helps deliver responsive, accurate, and consistent human resources services. This role partners with employees and leaders on recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and HR administration. The HR Generalist maintains confidential records, supports field and office employees, and helps ensure practices align with company policies and applicable employment requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

- Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, candidate communication, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire documentation, orientation, system access coordination, employment changes, and separation records.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding policies, benefits, payroll-related questions, leave, and general HR processes.
- Support employee relations matters by gathering information, maintaining objective documentation, and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Administer employee benefit programs and assist with enrollments, qualifying life events, employee communications, invoice review, and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate employee data and records in the HR information system and personnel files while protecting confidentiality.
- Support performance management activities, including review cycles, goal-setting, supervisor training, documentation, and follow-up.
- Track required training, licenses, certifications, and other workforce documentation; coordinate renewals and communicate upcoming deadlines.
- Assist with leave administration, workers’ compensation coordination, and return-to-work documentation in accordance with company procedures and applicable requirements.
- Prepare routine HR reports, audit records for accuracy, and identify follow-up actions or process improvements.
- Help develop, update, and communicate policies, procedures, forms, job descriptions, and employee communications.
- Partner with payroll, safety, and operations to support a consistent employee experience across office and jobsite locations.
- Participate in HR projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least three years of progressive human resources experience supporting multiple HR functions.
- Working knowledge of employment practices and the ability to apply policies consistently and appropriately.
- Experience maintaining confidential records and working in an HR information system.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, judgment, follow-through, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience in construction, field operations, or another multi-location workforce environment.
- Experience with recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and HR reporting.
- Experience using Paylocity or a comparable human resources and payroll platform.
- Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or progress toward certification.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
