As part of a hardworking team of engineers, business leaders, and cross-functional specialists, you will serve as a "systems engineer of business" — applying your strategic, analytical, and operational expertise to help Blue Origin scale to industry-high levels of manufacturing, launch, and mission execution.
Our MBA hires work at the intersection of strategy, finance, operations, and program management across our business units: New Glenn, Blue Engines, Lunar Permanence, In-Space Systems, Blue National Security, Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering, and Operations.
Your work will directly impact how we build rockets, engines, and spacecraft — and ultimately, the road to space. Whether you're developing financial models to inform leadership decision-making, leading cross-functional programs to improve operational efficiency, analyzing strategic tradeoffs, optimizing business processes and resource allocation, or overseeing manufacturing operations and the transition from development to high-rate production, you will be a critical part of the team that turns Blue Origin's vision into reality.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Your projects may include various aspects of business operations, strategy, finance, program management, and manufacturing operations, including:
- Supporting business unit financial and strategic objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource optimization.
- Mapping and understanding industry landscape, competitive dynamics, and market trends.
- Analyzing strategic tradeoffs and developing portfolio recommendations for leadership.
- Leading or supporting large-scale, cross-functional enterprise programs and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and aligning with organizational strategic goals.
- Building and maintaining tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance metrics and other key information.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies in current processes and implementing innovative solutions.
- Completing cost-benefit justifications on strategic decisions and delivering meaningful insights on financial performance and opportunities to reduce costs without impacting performance.
- Developing and delivering content for strategic reviews with leadership.
- Collaborating across departments — including engineering, manufacturing, finance, and supply chain — to access and collect data that informs decision-making.
- Acting as a key liaison between operational teams and leadership to ensure business objectives are met.
- Understanding and helping manage the complex interplay between strategy, technology, manufacturing, finance, and business operations.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve financial performance and competitive positioning through continuous improvement of production-related processes.
- Managing production planning, scheduling, and workforce allocation to meet output targets while reducing overhead and labor costs.
- Establishing and tracking quality and safety standards across manufacturing operations.
- Supporting or leading the transition from development to production by partnering with engineering to develop production-ready manufacturing approaches, standardize processes, document work instructions, and set up new production work areas including layouts, tooling, and equipment.
- Managing capital and operating budgets to ensure timely execution of production capability milestones.
- Forecasting constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedules and developing recovery plans.
Qualifications:
- MBA
- Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Summer 2027.
- 3–5 years of professional experience prior to MBA program.
- Proven quantitative skills including economic and/or financial modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to structure and apply analytical frameworks to solve complex problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work through ambiguity to distill high-level requirements into meaningful tasks to achieve a desired end state.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
- Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement solutions.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.

Desired:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or other highly analytical field.
- Demonstrated leadership or management experience in a professional setting, including direct supervision of teams.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, finance, or business operations — particularly in high-rate, multi-product manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of operations management principles, including make/buy analysis, logistics optimization, production planning, and integrated master schedules.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, assembly, or testing of complex hardware systems (aerospace experience is a plus, but not required — automotive, energy, nuclear, and other industries are equally valued).
- Proficiency in project and program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, Jira, Confluence).
- Experience working with Business Intelligence tools and database software.
- Advanced skills in presentation and visualization tools.
- Demonstrated market research and analysis experience.
- Basic coding ability (e.g., Python, SQL) to support process automation or data analysis.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Broad/deep scheduling and planning skillset, including experience with resource-loaded schedules.
- Understanding of the private space industry.

Base Pay Range for:
CA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20
CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95
WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20
VA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20
