UX Designer, Chrome Disco

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

We are looking for an Interaction Designer to join Chrome Disco, Chrome’s AI Incubation platform. In this role, you will be a key creative force in identifying and building the next generation of AI browser experiences. Because we operate at the frontier of AI and web browsing, you will need to move fast and thrive in ambiguity. You will drive strategic AI prototyping that brings ambiguous concepts to life. You will help elevate the visual design across experimental features, using your interaction design skills to build innovative, usable, and scalable experiences.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

- 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

- Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Experience prototyping and designing for Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, or emergent technologies.

- Experience with visual storytelling, branding, or marketing.

- Experience with typography, layout, and modern UI patterns.

- Experience with design systems (e.g., component and token creation) in Figma.

- Lead the rapid translation of ambiguous ideas into high-fidelity, interactive AI prototypes and features.

- Apply visual design skills, including typography and brand integration, to develop product prototypes.

- Participate in visioning sprints and use visual storytelling to communicate product strategy to the broader team.

- Collaborate tightly with Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Researchers through the entire incubation lifecycle, from initial concept to graduating features back to the core Chrome browser.

- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
