Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a full time Systems Engineer (w/ Mechanical focus) to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. As part of the Interface Management team, the selected candidate is expected to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and possess the ability to operate independently and as part of a group.
The Opportunity
This position supports two key roles. The first is the definition and allocation of weapon system interface requirements, achieved through technical evaluation of requested interface changes and interaction with government activities and other prime contractors. The second is enhancing the thoroughness and accuracy of impact assessments and compatibility verifications of proposed interface requirements changes. This is achieved through migrating existing artifacts into digital engineering tools to support model-based reviews. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Understanding of Requirements, Interface Control, and Design drawings, and the differences between them
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
- Proficiency with PC and MS Office Suite applications
- Experience developing Engineering models and leveraging them to develop drawing packages, especially in Creo
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience supporting multiple simultaneous projects
- Experience negotiating interface requirement changes across multiple entities
- Experience with specialized toolsets such as Creo, IBM DOORS, Windchill PLM, Cameo Systems Modeler
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $49592 - $68993
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
