What’s the opportunity?

As the Emergency Management Advisor at Ernest Henry Operations, you’ll lead how the site prepares for and responds to emergency situations. Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Risk, Health & Safety, you’ll take ownership of emergency response capability, building a strong, ready and well-trained Emergency Response Team (ERT) while ensuring systems meet site and legislative requirements. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine emergency response expertise with training and leadership, playing a key role in keeping people safe and prepared

In this role, you’ll:

- Lead and develop the site’s Emergency Response Team and overall response capability

- Deliver training, simulations and coaching to build site-wide emergency preparedness

- Provide emergency care and supporting response activities when required

- Maintain emergency systems, equipment and readiness across site

- Conduct audits, reviews and continuous improvement of emergency management processes

- Contribute to broader health and safety systems and site initiatives.

Does this sound like you?

You’re someone who thrives in high-responsibility environments and takes pride in keeping people safe and prepared. You bring a calm, capable approach and enjoy building team capability through training and leadership. Ideally, you’ll also have:

- Experience in emergency response, ideally within mining or heavy industry

- Certificate III in Mines Rescue and Occupational First Aid

- Training and assessment capability, or a strong interest in developing it

- Strong knowledge of emergency response and safety systems

- The ability to lead, coach and build capability in teams

- Confidence making decisions in high-pressure situations

- Solid systems skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
