What’s the opportunity?

Play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia's premier open pit mining operations.

As a Mining Engineer , you'll work at the centre of operational decision making, helping translate mine plans into outcomes that drive safe, efficient and reliable production. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical capability while building strong stakeholder relationships across operations, geology, survey and geotechnical teams.

Working an 8:6 roster with 12-hour shifts, you'll enjoy genuine work life balance while contributing to an operation experiencing significant growth. With new satellite pits coming online and a strong future mine plan, you'll gain exposure to projects and opportunities that can help define your career.

Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you'll:

- Develop and drive short-term mine plans that support operational success

- Influence site performance through effective stakeholder engagement

- Support drill and blast design, scheduling and operational execution

- Analyse production performance and identify improvement opportunities

- Contribute to the successful delivery of mining projects from planning through to execution

- Help ensure plans are communicated clearly and delivered safely across site teams

Does this sound like you?

- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent

- 2+ year’s experience in an open pit mining engineering role

- Experience in mine planning and scheduling

- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills

- The ability to influence outcomes and drive plans through to execution

- Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software such as Vulcan or Surpac

- A proactive, team focused approach and commitment to safety

Experience within gold mining is welcomed, however engineers from other commodities are encouraged to apply where they have relevant open pit planning experience.
