Role Details
As a Cellar Door Host, you’ll be the face of Petaluma, greeting visitors, guiding tastings, sharing our rich winemaking story and showcasing some of the finest wines in our portfolio.
You’ll support the Cellar Door Manager and wider team to deliver exceptional experiences that turn guests into lifelong fans.
This is a Permanent Part‑Time role working at least 22 hours over 4 days.
What You'll Do
You’ll bring energy, warmth and professionalism to every interaction, ensuring our cellar door feels inviting, polished and memorable.
A snapshot of your day-to-day:
- Host tastings, tours and premium experiences with confidence and personality
- Promote our Wine Club and welcome new members
- Operate POS systems, balance tills and manage daily opening/closing
- Pick, pack and dispatch wine orders
- Prepare simple food offerings
- Maintain a spotless, well‑stocked cellar door
- Support events that celebrate our historic site and premium wines
- Grow our member base through in‑house promotions and telephone marketing
What You Bring
You’re someone who loves wine, loves people and thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Strong wine knowledge and genuine passion for the winemaking process
- Confident storyteller …able to bring wine and history to life!
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
- Experience in cellar door or hospitality (highly desirable)
- WSET Level 2, food safety knowledge or barista skills (bonus)
- RSA and a valid driver’s licence
This role includes regular weekend work and some manual handling.
