About this role

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the financial lifecycle of approximately 27 grants

- Review and interpret grant agreements and funding requirements

- Develop and maintain grant tracking schedules, templates, and reporting tools

- Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding restrictions

- Prepare and review budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis

- Manage payroll and operating expense allocations across grants

- Prepare grant financial reports, reimbursement requests, and supporting documentation

- Reconcile grant activity to the general ledger

- Support month-end close and grant-related journal entries

- Monitor restricted funding and ensure appropriate coding of expenses

- Partner closely with Program Directors to monitor spending and address over/underspending

- Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions

- Maintain documentation and schedules in support of financial and grant audits

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

- Strong nonprofit grant accounting experience

- Experience independently managing multiple grants

- Demonstrated understanding of the full grant lifecycle

- Experience with grant budgeting, budget-to-actual reporting, payroll allocations, expense allocations, and restricted funding

- Ability to read and interpret grant agreements and translate requirements into accounting and reporting processes

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently

- Strong communication skills and experience partnering with program or non-finance leadership

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Experience with accounting/ERP systems
