Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our National Internal Traveler CT Technologist , you will be a highly skilled and adaptable imaging professional, providing critical diagnostic support across our organization by expertly performing advanced CT procedures with efficiency and precision. By bridging staffing gaps, you will ensure the seamless continuity of high-quality imaging services, serving as a vital resource for our diverse clinical facilities and medical teams.
Every day you will operate under physician direction and minimal supervision to execute complex CT procedures, meticulously process diagnostic images, and produce high-quality clinical interpretations. Your routine will involve assessing patient readiness, verifying informed consent for invasive procedures like biopsies, and maintaining stringent sterile techniques. You will consistently apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to manage workflow, maintain equipment performance, and uphold the highest standards of radiation safety and patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional CT technical proficiency, a broad understanding of imaging modalities, and the professional acumen to deliver outstanding results in varied clinical environments. You will be a proactive communicator capable of maintaining detailed patient histories and incident records while demonstrating a deep commitment to quality improvement, regulatory compliance (ACR, CMS, Joint Commission), and the principles of ALARA and radiation protection.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and provide clear, empathetic communication regarding procedure expectations and post-exam care.
- Expertly assist physicians with interventional procedures, including needle localizations, aspirations, and biopsies, while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Optimize diagnostic results by selecting appropriate equipment, technical factors, and protocols, while strictly adhering to "Image Gently" and "Image Wisely" safety standards.
- Maintain accurate clinical records by obtaining and documenting thorough patient histories to support image interpretation and future care continuity.
- Conduct proactive equipment performance and quality assessments, ensuring all technology meets ACR standards and reporting any technical variations or supply shortages to management.
- Champion departmental excellence by actively participating in quality improvement projects, regulatory audits, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance requirements.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant clinical experience in a hospital or imaging setting.
- Radiography Certification: Registered Technologist (RT) in Radiography through the ARRT.
- CT Certification: Registered Technologist (RT) in Computed Tomography through the ARRT.
- Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
