Hiring for Two Positions!

SUMMARY

Responsible for selling nonresidential and residential architectural metal products and supplies to both new and existing contractor customers and managing relationships to ensure that they continue to use Sentrigard for all their flat sheet, coil, fabricated product and project needs. Achieves sales revenue and margin objectives in accordance with budgets and plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

- Maintains account base, and actively works to identify and develop new accounts for revenue growth.
- Promotes products to architectural metals contractors, building owners, architects, property managers and other potential customers to drive and create demand.
- Activities include specification development, scope of work, inspections, and technical support for all products and customers. Works closely with Business Development team to identify and close opportunities.
- Coordinates examinations, proposals, contractor selection, bid documents, and other necessary aspects with building owners.
- Works closely with inside sales team and vendors to plan and execute the promotion of products and services to customers.
- Works with Project Pricing Manager to develop responsive project and program pricing and proposals.
- Identifies and reports competitors (activity), their product lines, and market practices, as well as industry trends.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
- Describes, displays, or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasize salable feature.
- Quotes prices and availability for materials and facilitates collections as required.
- Conducts and attends pre-bid conferences, bid openings, and act as a liaison between the Design Professional, Property Manager, Building Owner or Design Build General Contractor and the Architectural Representative in conjunction with the Contractor.
- Attends trade shows and actively participates in local organizations to establish and maintain peer relationships and to continue to build the level of expertise in sales and technical abilities.

None required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

College degree in a business or technical discipline preferred and 2-4 years of demonstrated sales experience in a building materials environment. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective time management and planning skills; self-motivation; excellent customer service skills; ability to work under minimal supervision; ability to meet goals, partner and build relationships with vendors, building owners and others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, while many duties are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eye strain from reading detailed materials and looking at a computer screen. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. The employee is required to talk, present, and listen.

TRAVEL

This role involves frequent travel to customers and prospect locations and requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle. A valid government driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, as determined by company standards and insurer requirements, are required. All vehicles operated for Company purposes must be legally registered with appropriate government authorities. Continued employment in this role may be contingent upon maintaining driving eligibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a field-based role with regular travel throughout an assigned territory, including customer offices, warehouses, and active job sites. Visits to customer locations and construction jobsite conditions may create exposure to noise, dust, and dirt, etc.
