About the Role

The Risk Manager – Consumer Durable is responsible for managing and mitigating risks across the Consumer Durable loan portfolio within the Retail Banking business. Based in Mumbai, the role involves conducting asset quality reviews, shaping risk appetite, implementing technological interventions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure portfolio health and compliance with regulatory standards. The incumbent will play a key role in driving operational efficiency and supporting business growth through data-driven risk strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

- Conduct regular asset quality reviews and provide analytical insights to identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure timely updates to program risk acceptance criteria in response to changes in legal, regulatory, business, or market conditions.
- Build strong controls to mitigate risks across onboarding, credit, operations, fraud, and reputation.
- Forecast portfolio direction and loss estimates and implement strategies to manage and control risk.
- Monitor portfolio delinquencies at a granular level, identifying high-risk segments, locations, and customer profiles.
- Align product risk appetite with growth objectives and the Bank’s Risk Appetite Framework, including risk-based pricing.
- Facilitate the implementation of technological interventions such as scorecards, digital journeys, and automation to streamline processes.
- Recommend improvements to processes and policies to enhance operational efficiency and customer service quality.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage synergies across departments.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution of risk strategies.
- Contribute to the development of a risk-aware culture across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

Education

- Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
- Post-graduation: MBA from a recognised institution.

Experience

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail lending risk management, preferably in consumer durable financing within BFSI industry.

Skills and Attributes

- Strong understanding of consumer durable products and credit risk frameworks.
- Proficiency in portfolio analytics and early warning systems.
- Experience in implementing digital tools and automation for risk processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and process orientation.
