About this role

Summary:

Warehouse Section Head, will assist the Warehouse Manager in leading and controlling all warehouse and distribution activities, including Finished Goods (FG), Raw Materials (RM), and Packaging Materials (PM) storage operations. The role is responsible for managing the cold stores, Dry store, inventory control, local distribution activities, and a fleet of delivery trucks while ensuring safety, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, customer service excellence, and compliance with company policies and food safety requirements.

DESCRIPTION:

Warehouse Leadership & Operations Management

- Lead daily warehouse operations across all storage facilities.

- Ensure smooth receiving, put-away, storage, picking, replenishment, and dispatch activities.

- Develop daily workload plans and assign tasks to storekeepers and warehouse operators.

- Ensure all warehouse activities are executed according to SOPs and company policies.

- Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and Logistics departments.

- Monitor warehouse capacity and optimize storage utilization.

- Ensure uninterrupted material flow to support manufacturing and customer requirements.

- Act as the first escalation point for operational issues and inventory discrepancies.

Inventory Management & Stock Control

- Take full responsibility for inventory control and stock accuracy across Finished Goods (FG) Cold Store, Raw Materials (RM) Cold Store, and Packaging Materials (PM) Dry Store, ensuring all inventory records accurately always reflect physical stock.

- Ensure all inventory transactions, including receiving, put-away, transfers, production issues, returns, adjustments, and dispatches, are accurately recorded and processed in the ERP/WMS system in a timely manner.

- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counting, location verification, stock reconciliation, and periodic physical inventory counts, ensuring compliance with company inventory control policies and targets.

- Supervise and validate all receiving and issuing activities to ensure quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, lot traceability, and storage locations are correctly recorded and controlled.

- Ensure strict compliance with FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) principles for all applicable materials and finished products to minimize inventory losses and product obsolescence.

- Review inventory reports daily and investigate stock variances, transaction errors, damaged stocks, shortages, overages, and system discrepancies, implementing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.

- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, aging, obsolete, rejected, and damaged inventories and recommend appropriate actions to optimize storage utilization and inventory value.

- Control inventory movements between warehouses, storage locations, production areas, and external storage facilities while maintaining full traceability and system integrity.

- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and stock shortages.

- Lead monthly cycle count programs and annual physical stock counts, ensuring reconciliation of physical inventory with system records and timely closure of discrepancies.

- Ensure proper stock rotation, location management, pallet control, and warehouse housekeeping standards to maximize inventory visibility, accessibility, and storage efficiency.

- Prepare and analyse inventory performance reports, including stock accuracy, inventory aging, stock variances, inventory turnover, slow-moving items, and inventory loss reports, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, traceability requirements, audit requirements, and internal control procedures related to inventory management and warehouse operations.

Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Management

- Manage all warehouse equipment including:

VNA Trucks

- Reach Trucks

- Counterbalance Forklifts

- Electric Pallet Trucks

- Hand Pallet Jacks

- Ensure equipment availability to support operations.

- Monitor equipment performance and downtime.

- Coordinate preventive maintenance with service providers.

- Monitor maintenance costs and equipment utilization.

- Recommend equipment upgrades and replacement requirements.

Fleet & Distribution Management

- Manage a fleet of 6 delivery trucks supporting customer deliveries.

- Coordinate daily delivery schedules and vehicle utilization.

- Monitor vehicle maintenance, licensing, insurance, and regulatory compliance.

- Track fleet KPIs including:

- Vehicle utilization

- Delivery performance

- Fuel consumption

- Maintenance costs

- Driver productivity

- Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely deliveries

Reporting & KPI Management

Prepare and analyse warehouse performance reports including:

- Inventory Accuracy %

- Order Picking Accuracy %

- Warehouse Productivity

- Stock Variance Reports

- Stock Aging Reports

- Temperature Compliance Reports

- Vehicle Loading Efficiency

- Warehouse Capacity Utilization

- Customer Service Levels

- Safety KPI Reports

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Academic and professional qualifications:

- Graduated in bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Experience:

- 8-10 years of warehouse experience in FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Distribution, or Cold Chain Operations.

- Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership position
