The Role

We’re building the next chapter of our Front End platform and we’re looking for someone to help lead it.

To drive this vision, we are engineering a new, highly flexible Front End platform. Our B2B partners require sophisticated, tailor-made digital experiences that seamlessly match their individual brand standards while performing effortlessly at scale. As our Senior Development Manager, you’ll lead a significant part of our Front End engineering organisation in Gothenburg and drive the wider Front End initiative across multiple locations.

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you’ll be responsible for people, operations and delivery across several core development teams.

This is a role for someone who enjoys bringing people, technology and execution together. You’ll develop leaders, create clarity, remove obstacles and help teams turn ambitious plans into software that works in the real world. You’ll also help us put AI to practical use across engineering; improving workflows, increasing team productivity and making better informed decisions about resources. We’re interested in improvements that make a measurable difference to how our teams work.

And when difficult decisions come along, you’ll be ready to make them: thoughtfully, clearly and with care for the people involved.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead leaders and help great teams thrive

You’ll lead, coach and support Team Leads and Front End engineers across several teams. That means setting clear expectations, building ownership and connecting everyday engineering work to the bigger business picture.

- Turn big plans into working platforms

You’ll drive major platform transformations and the long-term modernisation of our Front End architecture across consumer brands and B2B platforms. With teams working across multiple locations, you’ll keep priorities aligned, dependencies visible and delivery moving.

- Own the people side of engineering

From talent development and performance management to resource planning, you’ll take responsibility for the health and effectiveness of your organisation. You’ll celebrate strong performance, address problems early and handle challenging operational or contractual discussions with confidence and respect.

- Make delivery run better

You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Team Leads and senior stakeholders to improve how we plan, collaborate and deliver. Agile practices, continuous integration and efficient workflows should help teams get good software into customers’ hands.

- Make AI useful in everyday engineering

You’ll help teams find practical ways to use AI to reduce repetitive work, improve engineering workflows and increase productivity. You’ll also use it to support resource planning, applying sound judgement to where it adds value and how to measure the results.

- Keep the technical big picture in focus

You don’t need to review every pull request, but you should be comfortable discussing React, TypeScript, CI/CD and Front End architecture. You’ll ask good questions, challenge assumptions and help teams make sound decisions about performance, customisation, risk and dependencies.

- Bring clarity when things get complicated

Multiple teams, locations and partner requirements make for interesting leadership challenges. You’ll help people understand what matters most, make decisions when the answer isn’t obvious and keep the organisation moving forward.

Requirements

We’re probably a good match if you:

- Have an academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development or a related technical field.
- Have successfully led multiple software engineering teams, for example as a Development Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Lead or Manager, Head of Engineering, or in a similar senior leadership role.
- Know how to combine empathy with accountability. You care about people and believe clear expectations, honest feedback and follow-through help them succeed.
- Are comfortable making difficult decisions under pressure, even when the right answer won’t be everyone’s favourite.
- Have a solid understanding of modern Front End development, particularly React, TypeScript and CI/CD, and can connect technical decisions to delivery and business needs.
- Can take complex, cross-functional initiatives from PowerPoint to production, adapting your approach as circumstances change.
- Are curious and practical about AI, with an interest in using it to improve how engineering teams work.
- Take responsibility for your decisions and hold yourself to the same standards you expect from others.
- Communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.

Why This Role?

Because there’s plenty to build and you’ll help shape how we build it. You’ll influence a new Front End architecture designed for global partners, lead talented teams across multiple locations and help define how AI fits into our engineering organisation.

The scope is substantial: people, platforms and delivery , with room to make a visible difference in all three.

If you enjoy developing leaders, untangling complex problems and turning ambitious technology plans into things that actually ship, we’d like to hear from you.
