At Verity Studios our indoor drone shows fly autonomously above performers and audiences in arenas, theaters and on stages around the world. We've performed at Eurovision and with Cirque du Soleil, and toured with Céline Dion, Drake, Justin Bieber and Metallica.
We're looking for someone to join our Live Events team who can hear a soundtrack and see it in the air. You'll turn music and emotion into drone choreography that audiences never forget, and you'll bring the engineering chops to make it happen reliably, show after show. Beyond the creative work, you'll help shape the technology behind it: building new control algorithms, qualifying hardware and sharpening the tools that keep our global fleet flying.
What you'll do
Roughly 80% of your time will be dedicated to creating new and ongoing shows, including:
- Collaborating with clients, directors, and creatives to design drone choreographies
- Programming and testing choreographies for new shows in C++
- Traveling on-site to help deliver shows worldwid
The rest of your time will go to support and development work
- Traveling on-site to help deliver shows worldwide
- Providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for ongoing shows
- Improving and extending Python-based support tools for our growing global fleet
What you bring
- Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar field
- Programming, testing and refining choreographies in C++
- Solid software engineering practices (testing, tooling, code quality)
- Creative mindset and ability to discuss artistic concepts with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new topics
Nice to have
- Web development or other modern software tooling experience
- Background in live entertainment, animation, or similar creative fields
- Experience in System and Controls (localization, control, hardware interfaces)
