Sr. Materials and Corrosion Engineer (Offshore)

KBR, Inc. is currently seeking a Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join the Offshore team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to ensuring the integrity and longevity of assets through specialized expertise in materials selection, corrosion prevention, and assessment. The position requires a strong technical foundation to guide decision-making and ensure compliance with Aramco and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

- Lead Brownfield and Greenfield Offshore Projects, acting as a technical focal point for all aspects of materials engineering as well as managing project bids, execution, resources and deliverables
- Development of Corrosion Management Programs; Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Coating Selection Diagrams, and Corrosion Loop Diagrams.
- Carry out corrosion assessments on pipelines, piping, and equipment, with a preference for software experience with ECE-5.
- Non-metallic Material Studies; development of non-metallic material assessments and material selection of appropriate non-metallic material
- Provide technical support for disciplines and project-related tasks and workshops, including OSI, RBI and Corrosion Inspection Manuals for operating assets and new projects, development and resolution of Technical Queries, review and approval of materials substitutions and resolution of site fabrication issues
- Lead engineering assessments based on applicable codes such as API 579, BS DNV RP F101, ASME B31.3/4/8, ISO 15156, ISO 21457
- Review Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) and Non-Material Requirements (NMRs), primarily related to the materials scope.
- Review integrity assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, and Direct Assessment reports as primary input.
- Assist in the training and development of junior team members.
- Liaise with the global offices for support where needed.
- Sites Visits outside offices as & when required.

Minimum 15+ years of experience, offshore engineering  and a degree in engineering is mandatory. Candidates with the below experience are encouraged to apply:

- Aramco Standards and Best Practices, NACE requirements, Material Selection, Corrosion Modelling, Damage Mechanisms, Corrosion Control and Cathodic Protection
- Water Injection, HPHT and sour gas field experience
- APCS coating systems and internal FBE coatings
- Chemical treatment, inhibitor selection and oilfield production chemicals
- Material grades, alloy selection, heat treatment and weld engineering
- Strong Experience working on pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed design, EPC and PMC roles
