DevOps Engineer – India
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to build and support reliable, scalable technology solutions in a fast-paced and collaborative environment? As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with IT, development teams, and technology stakeholders to maintain, develop, and support Proto Labs’ internal and external business applications. You will play a key role in improving deployment reliability, automation, availability, and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
DevOps & Infrastructure
- Manage and support the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure and application environments.
- Maintain and support version control systems, build tools, and continuous integration and deployment tools.
- Work closely with development teams to support applications and promote Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Support server configuration management and infrastructure automation.
Automation & Deployment
- Identify opportunities to improve deployment dependability and reduce manual intervention through automation.
- Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
- Support code releases into highly available application environments.
- Contribute to continuous deployment practices using tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
High Availability & Reliability
- Design and support high-availability solutions, including load balancer configurations.
- Support highly available applications and help improve system reliability and resilience.
- Work with development and technology teams to identify and resolve operational and deployment challenges.
- Participate in 24x7 coverage for the area of responsibility, including occasional after-hours support and on-call duties.
Cloud & Containerized Environments
- Support cloud infrastructure and application environments across AWS and Azure.
- Work with microservices-based environments and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure using configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
What It Takes
Technical Skills
- 3+ years of experience managing servers in an enterprise environment.
- 2+ years of experience supporting code releases into highly available applications.
- 1+ years of experience supporting server configuration management tools.
- 1+ years of experience supporting highly available applications.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, automation, deployment, infrastructure, and application reliability practices.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform .
- Experience with continuous deployment tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub .
- Hands-on experience with Git and code versioning.
- Experience with HAProxy or similar load-balancing technologies.
- Knowledge of JSON/REST .
- Experience working with Kubernetes and microservices environments.
- Knowledge of Linux OS hardening and security .
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure .

- Ability to identify manual or repetitive processes and automate them effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a focus on system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively with development, IT, and other technology stakeholders.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience managing enterprise servers and infrastructure.
