We’re looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team and play a key role in shaping our supply chain strategy and delivering outstanding commercial outcomes.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you’ll lead and develop a team of procurement professionals while taking responsibility for supplier performance, category strategy, commercial risk and procurement excellence across our programme.

Working in a complex and fast-paced commercial environment, you’ll challenge traditional ways of working, identify opportunities to deliver differently and build collaborative relationships across our internal teams, Alliance Partners and supply chain.

Your responsibilities:

·       Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing procurement team, including Category Leads and Buyers.

·       Developing and implementing category strategies across construction services, materials and process plant.

·       Managing supplier and category risk to protect continuity, performance and value.

·       Monitoring supplier performance and using scorecards to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

·       Supporting tender activity, evaluating supplier submissions and providing commercially informed recommendations.

·       Negotiating critical goods and services to achieve the right balance of value, quality and reliability.

·       Ensuring procurement activity complies with framework agreements, governance requirements and responsible procurement standards.

·       Building trusted relationships with suppliers and identifying opportunities for supplier development.

·       Working collaboratively with Solutions, Commercial, Operations, Construction and Project teams to ensure procurement is involved early in decision-making.

·       Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and commercial outcomes across the supply chain.

·       Championing digital transformation, data and analytics to improve procurement insight and decision-making.

·       Promoting innovation and challenging established approaches to unlock additional value.

·       Providing clear reporting, procurement insight and risk information to senior stakeholders.

·       Championing an inclusive, safe and high-performing working environment.

About You

You’ll be an experienced procurement professional who combines commercial expertise with strong people leadership and the confidence to influence at all levels.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

·       MCIPS and/or CMI qualification.

·       Significant experience working in procurement within a commercially challenging environment.

·       Experience leading, coaching and developing teams, ideally with responsibility for multiple direct reports.

·       Strong supplier management and supplier development experience.

·       Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.

·       Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.

·       Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to manage challenging commercial conversations.

·       Sound judgement with the ability to make informed decisions in a complex environment.

·       Strong planning and prioritisation skills.

·       Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills.

·       A proactive approach, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and take ownership of outcomes.

. A degree in business, procurement or a related discipline would be advantageous.
