About this role

Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!

At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we deliver our Smoking Cessation support service across Hampshire, and we’re looking for a Community Stop Smoking Advisor to join us!

Our programme is designed to support residents of Hampshire to access the support they need to stop smoking. This includes a range of approaches, including the supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT), alongside high-quality behavioural support from our Stop Smoking Advisors.

This is primarily a face-to-face, community-based role , focused on delivering high-quality smoking cessation support to people across Hampshire. Advisors will manage a caseload of clients through their quit journey, delivering one-to-one and group support in community settings and clinics, with the ability to provide remote support where appropriate.

You’ll be accountable for your performance across key stages of the client journey and will work towards agreed individual and service targets. This includes delivering effective interventions, maintaining accurate and timely client records, supporting clients to remain engaged with the programme and ensuring outcomes are recorded appropriately.

The role also extends beyond your client appointments. You’ll play an active part in increasing awareness and uptake of the service within your local area, attending community engagement events and activities, building local relationships and helping to generate new referrals.

For people supported to quit smoking through the use of a vape quit aid, where the risk of relapse is deemed low, a vape cessation service will be offered and delivered. For residents who don’t smoke tobacco but do use vape devices and wish to stop, this role will also provide vape cessation support.

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role, and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.

A typical day as a Community Stop Smoking Advisor might include:

• Delivering evidence-based, predominantly face-to-face interventions focused on smoking cessation, behaviour change and psychological support, working with clients on a one-to-one and group basis across community settings and clinics.

• Managing your client caseload effectively and taking responsibility for supporting people throughout their quit journey, including appropriate follow-up and re-engagement where required.

• Maintaining accurate, complete and timely client records, including appointment notes, outcomes and follow-up actions, so that clients receive the right support at the right time and their progress can be effectively monitored.

• Working towards agreed individual and service targets across key stages of the client journey, taking ownership of your performance and contributing to the overall success of the service.

• Supporting people to stop using vape/e-cigarette products where appropriate.

• Taking an active role in generating referrals within your local area, attending community engagement events and activities, promoting the service and developing relationships with local partners and communities.

• Using non-client-facing time productively to support wider service priorities and activities.

• Working with partner organisations and colleagues across Hampshire to improve service uptake, reach priority communities and support achievement of service targets.

• Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients by following our policies and procedures.

• Giving due consideration to our Safeguarding, Information Governance and Clinical Governance policies and procedures. To ensure safer recruitment and safeguarding for all, we adopt pre-employment processes including DBS checks.

• Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!

• Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!

About you…

More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!

Be the change

You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive.

Be happy

You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor).

Be successful

You are motivated and driven. Happy working independently or as part of a team, you’re comfortable working towards targets, taking ownership of your performance and contributing to the success of the wider service. You’ll be given opportunities to contribute, learn and develop your career.

Be big-hearted

You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, you want to engage in meaningful work and change lives.

To work with us in this role you will need to have some delivery experience of supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices. Full training for the role will be provided; however, if you have already completed your NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training, that’s a bonus!

We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience, so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!
