The team you will be a part of

The Tax team ensures that the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Activities may include undertaking research; evaluating the legality and tax effectiveness of current and future business activities; preparing and submitting tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports; maintaining tax records; and corresponding with external tax agencies or consultants.
## This role in summary

Leads indirect tax consulting and advisory for Brazilian operations— from manufacturing and distribution to B2B and D2C sales

channels, including operations in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM). Reporting to the Indirect Taxes Senior Manager, this position provides specialized technical guidance on IBS, CBS, Imposto Seletivo, ICMS, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS and any other indirect taxes, drives tax planning and incentives management, and supports business expansion and strategic initiatives across the group. The role serves as the primary technical reference for indirect taxes within the organization and the key interface with the corporate tax group, championing the innovation agenda for indirect taxes consulting through AI solutions that transform how the team works. It also serves as the main source of planning opportunities to optimize the company's operations, with a solid interaction with the Transformation Projects team under the common Senior Manager.

Your responsibilities will include

- Lead indirect tax consulting & planning for Brazilian operations—IBS, CBS, ICMS, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS and others—providing  specialized technical guidance across factories, distribution centers, complex distribution logistics, and all sales channels (B2B and D2C).
- Oversight of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) and any other tax incentives portfolio, fostering optimization.
- Drive strategic indirect tax planning: supply chain and distribution structuring, IBS/CBS, ICMS substitution (ICMS-ST), DIFAL, intercompany flows, and credit recovery strategies (ressarcimento/ restituição) .
- Support business growth across channels and models—B2B, D2C, e-commerce, and marketplaces—ensuring correct indirect tax treatment, pricing impact assessment, and competitive positioning.
- Incubate and create opportunities to optimize the company's operations by interacting with the Transformation Projects team and the Indirect tax Compliance team. .
- Lead projects to model and prepare for the Brazilian tax reform (IBS/CBS), quantifying impacts on pricing, logistics and incentives, and supporting strategic decisions during the transition.
- Support the Tax Controversy team regarding the management of  indirect tax contingencies—tax assessments, administrative and judicial proceedings at federal, state, and municipal levels—indicating technical positions, quantifying exposures and aligning them with the group's reporting process.
- Champion innovation and automation: co-lead initiatives to support the Compliance Team on the digitalization and automation of indirect tax processes through data analytics, automation, and AI solutions.
- Partner with accounting, treasury, legal, logistics, sales teams—and the corporate tax group—translating complex indirect  tax matters into clear, business-oriented language, while developing and training the team.

Minimum requirements

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law.
- Language: Fluent English (essential)—required for alignment with the corporate tax group and the US parent.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive indirect tax experience (Big 4 and/or multinational corporate), preferably in companies with manufacturing plants, distribution centers, complex distribution logistics, B2B and D2C sales channels, and operations in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM).

Preferred skills and experiences

- Hands-on knowledge of SAP and Guepardo (differential).
- Innovation mindset with focus on AI solutions for tax .
- Experience in managing and developing teams, including training and mentoring.
- Experience with Brazilian indirect tax litigation and tax risk management.
- Specialization in Tax and/or degree in Accounting are welcome differentials.
