Superintendent

Job Title: Superintendent Job Description The Superintendent plays a key role on the on-site construction team, leading high-impact projects ranging from $5M to $50M. In this role, you oversee all field operations, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and execution align with project goals and design specifications. You collaborate closely with clients, project teams, and trade partners on complex work in Healthcare, Higher Education, Data Centers, and Life Sciences, driving successful outcomes from preconstruction through project completion. Responsibilities

- Lead all on-site construction activities to ensure work meets design specifications, project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary liaison with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal project teams to maintain clear communication and alignment.
- Supervise craft workers and subcontractors, providing direction, oversight, and support as needed.
- Approve personnel actions and field purchases, and provide technical guidance including interpretation of plans, construction methods, and scheduling.
- Support the project management team in developing and implementing project workflows, procedures, and standards.
- Enforce compliance with company procedures, safety programs, and quality guidelines across the job site.
- Document and report safety or quality violations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Drive craft productivity and ensure optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment to achieve project goals.
- Oversee foremen and trade crews, plan work schedules, and monitor labor hours to maintain efficiency and budget control.
- Coordinate manpower allocation with the trades coordination function for self-perform work scopes.
- Collaborate with other contractors and stakeholders on site to align workflows and minimize conflicts.
- Identify and resolve field issues, including productivity gaps and constructability challenges, in a timely and proactive manner.
- Participate in preconstruction activities and complete assignments from leadership to support project planning and readiness.
- Foster a positive, collaborative relationship with the entire project team, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and mutual respect.

Essential Skills

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in general contracting or construction management-at-risk environments.
- Sector-specific experience in Healthcare, Higher Education, Data Centers, or Life Sciences projects.
- Proven success managing new builds, renovations, and fit-outs with values between $5M and $50M.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction specifications.
- Experience using MS Project for scheduling and Outlook for project communication.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and BIM360 for document management and coordination.
- Hands-on experience with self-perform trades including demolition, structural concrete, framing, drywall, ceilings, and specialties.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise construction activities and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Track record of executing projects profitably while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Solid and stable work history reflecting reliability and long-term commitment to projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- OSHA certification preferred.
- Experience in preconstruction activities is a plus.
- Relevant construction-related certifications, accreditations, or licenses are welcomed.
- Expereince in commercial construction and construction supervision.
- Experience in construction management and subcontractor management.
- Familiarity with commercial construction specifications and standards.
- Comfort using industry-standard software tools such as MS Project and Bluebeam for planning and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other contractors and trade partners.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Work Environment This is an on-site role with projects primarily located in Ohio. You work directly in the field, overseeing day-to-day construction operations on active job sites. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
