Position Summary

Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to oversee the analysis, contract development and maintenance, and commercial support of manufacturing support services utilized across PACCAR manufacturing facilities. PACCAR Purchasing Managers serve as change agents, committed to delivering maximum value to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost while effectively managing commercial risk across a variety of situations.

Job Function/Responsibilities:

- Identify qualified sources of supply for Manufacturing Support Services (MSS)

- Develop and implement MSS strategies that reduce total cost of ownership, enhance quality, and improve operational efficiency across multiple facilities to include new product introductions.

- Conduct supplier, plant, and divisional meetings, presentations, and executive-level reviews to drive collaboration and align Engineering, Materials, Operations, Logistics and Purchasing strategies and ensuring consistency with overall business objectives.

- Negotiate, establish, and maintain Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) for MSS supply base. Secure favorable pricing, commercial terms, and service levels while ensuring supply continuity.

- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, market analysis, spend management, and strategic sourcing activities while maintaining exceptional quality and service levels.

- Maintain and enhance supplier databases, procurement documentation, and sourcing records.

- Monitor supplier performance through key metrics including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, implementing corrective actions and supplier development plans as needed.

- Travel to PACCAR facilities and supplier locations as required to conduct business reviews, supplier assessments, and contract negotiations.

- Lead and support special projects focused on strategic sourcing, supplier development, supply chain optimization, process improvement, risk mitigation, and organizational cost reduction objectives.

Required Education and Skills:

- 7+ years work experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field required. Masters or MBA preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, or related business experience required. Commercial transportation, heavy equipment, or automotive business experience is a plus.

- Experience with production or MRO purchasing, manufacturing, and/or supply chain management desired.

- Proven ability to negotiate and analyze complex situations.

- Creative, quality minded, and results-driven mindset.

- Ability to work through challenging situations and provide potential solutions and recommendations.

- Team Player that is self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision while always maintaining a professional manner in appearance and communication.

- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation.

- PC skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

- Able to travel (domestic and international).

The salary range for the Purchasing Manager - Manufacturing Support Services is $104,100 -$162,900 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
