About this role
An HR Specialist at Centroid Systems requires 4 to 6 years of experience to manage Paylocity payroll, NetSuite integrations, benefits, and administrative workflows in a remote or hybrid capacity. Key duties include running payroll, managing employee onboarding for health insurance and retirement plans, onboarding new hires, maintaining personnel records, and answering daily employee questions about pay and benefits.
Location: Local to Troy, MI preferred but remote candidates will be considered
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Duties
- Process regular payrolls for all employees using Paylocity .
- Track hours, overtime, paid time off, and sick leave.
- Update employees pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit data.
- Sync payroll ledger data accurately into NetSuite software.
- Fix payroll errors and answer staff pay questions.
Benefits Administration:
- Enroll new hires in health, dental, and life insurance plans.
- Manage annual open enrollment periods for staff.
- Administer 401(k) or retirement plans and track matches.
- Handle leave requests like FMLA, medical leave, or short-term disability.
General HR Administration
- Help new employees onboard with HR System; Paylocity.
- Maintain digital and physical employee files.
- Process all employee changes, i.e. promotions, salary increases and terminations.
- Respond to employee questions as related to benefits and payroll via group HR inbox.
- General HR data reporting out of enterprise HR systems on weekly, monthly, quarterly cadences.
Requirements and Skills
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits, or general HR.
- Software Skills: Hands-on expertise with Paylocity and Oracle NetSuite is strongly preferred.
- Work Style: Proven ability to work productively in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in HR or business strongly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, high privacy standards, and good communication skills are a must with the ability to multi-task.
