Position Title: Senior Analyst Financial Planning and Analysis – Commercial
Position Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis – Commercial supports JetBlue's Commercial organization by building and maintaining the segment P&L used to measure route profitability, and by delivering financial analyses that enable the Commercial team to optimize the airline's network and schedules. This role connects route-level performance, network economics, and fleet decisions to financial outcomes by preparing forecasts, variance analysis, business cases, and executive-ready insights.
The Senior Analyst will partner closely with Commercial FP&A leadership, Network Planning, Scheduling, Revenue Management, Accounting, IT, and other Finance teams. The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, experience in financial modeling, and the analytical rigor to work independently on complex, ambiguous problems, and clearly communicate findings to finance and commercial stakeholders. Airline experience is a plus but not required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Own and continuously improve the segment P&L used to measure route-level profitability, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of outputs
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages that explain route and network financial performance, key business drivers, risks, opportunities, and variances to forecast, budget, and prior year
- Use SQL, Python, Tableau, and Excel to extract, validate, summarize, and analyze large, complex commercial and financial datasets
- Analyze drivers of route and network performance, including revenue trends, cost trends, capacity and schedule changes, and competitive dynamics
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate route profitability, network and schedule changes, and other Commercial investment decisions
- Partner with Network Planning, Scheduling, Revenue Management, and other teams to understand analytical outputs and translate findings into financial implications, forecast updates, and business narratives
- Support the development of financial forecasts, annual budgets, long-range plans, and business cases for network, schedule, and other Commercial initiatives
- Lead ad hoc analyses requested by Commercial FP&A leadership and business partners, including opportunity sizing, sensitivity analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling
- Identify data quality issues, process gaps, and reporting inefficiencies; recommend and help implement improvements to increase accuracy, consistency, and automation
- Prepare materials for leadership discussions, including charts, variance explanations, and concise written commentary
- Build strong working relationships across Commercial, Finance, Accounting, IT, and other business partner teams

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Three (3) years of experience in Finance, Commercial, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Analytics, Consulting, Accounting, or another business-oriented analytical role
- Strong SQL skills, including experience writing complex queries to extract, join, validate, and analyze data (e.g., Snowflake)
- Experience using Python or other scripting languages to automate processes
- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
- Experience with financial modeling, including building, maintaining, and improving models to support forecasting, business cases, or profitability analysis
- Experience performing financial analysis, variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, or business-case development
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to organize data, build analysis, summarize findings, and prepare clear presentation materials
- Strong analytical skills, including ability to evaluate large datasets, identify key business drivers, pressure-test assumptions, and communicate implications clearly
- Ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous problems and manage multiple priorities, recurring deadlines, and ad hoc requests in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact with stakeholders at different levels of the organization and build effective cross-functional relationships
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a quantitative field
- Advanced experience with SQL, Python, Snowflake, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar analytical and visualization tools
- Experience supporting airline network planning, scheduling, route profitability, or other Commercial economics functions
- Experience building or maintaining dashboards, recurring reports, forecast templates, or automated data processes
- Familiarity with airline commercial metrics, route economics, network scheduling, or segment profitability analysis
- Experience translating complex analysis into concise business commentary, executive materials, or forecast recommendations
- Demonstrated curiosity about business performance, network drivers, and financial outcomes
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $88,000.00 and $132,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
