Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. A key element of the program’s success is preparing Fellows to meet evolving workforce needs across various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.

Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners, while engaging with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, teaching, service, and scholarly activities.

In partnership with Northeastern University, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is offering a two-year US Market Access fellowship, based in Cambridge, MA .

Responsibilities

The US Market Access team is responsible for defining and executing the payer, trade, reimbursement, pricing and reimbursement strategy for Alnylam’s RNAi therapeutics. The inaugural US Market Access fellow will engage in payer and reimbursement marketing initiatives that help secure coverage for patients and help navigate them through the insurance journey. They will span across multiple Market Access functions to ensure a unified approach to executing Alnylam’s strategic imperatives. This role will involve extensive cross-functional collaboration with teams including US Marketing, Global Value & Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Sales, and Insights & Analytics. The fellow will gain key experiences and skills in communication, commercial execution, marketing, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execution of strategic and tactical plans for US Market Access across Alnylam’s commercial portfolio
- Creation of field tools and training to support external customer engagements
- Lead Congress planning and management (e.g., material creation, meeting tracking and sponsorship management)
- Evaluation and analysis of competitive dynamics that may impact coverage, pricing, reimbursement & channel design
- Cross-functional collaboration with US Marketing, Global Value & Access, and Medical Affairs to ensure Market Access tactics are aligned across Commercial & Medical functional areas
- Participation and assessment of annual investment planning process, ensuring tactics and strategies are executed against broader brand strategies

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
• Eligible for pharmacist licensure in the State of Massachusetts
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong time management and leadership abilities
• Ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at both the industry site and Northeastern

• Previous exposure to US Managed Care through academic coursework or independent research

• Direct professional experience is not needed to apply for this role

Expected Hiring Range:
$60,315.00 - $85,192.50

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
