As an SDE II, you will be part of the engineering team building scalable data and backend systems that power JioStar’s Ad Platform. You will work on large-scale data pipelines and real-time systems supporting ad reporting, attribution, targeting, measurement, and analytics.

This role offers an opportunity to work on challenging engineering problems involving large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and real-time event processing while contributing to products that support millions of users.

Key Responsibilities ● Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend systems for Ads reporting, attribution, analytics, and measurement. ● Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing workflows using technologies such as Spark, Hive, Kafka, SQL, and Scala. ● Work with large-scale datasets and distributed systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. ● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following engineering best practices. ● Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to build and deliver technical solutions. ● Develop and maintain data models, datasets, and APIs to support various Ads use cases. ● Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across different data sources.

● Troubleshoot and resolve issues in batch processing and real-time streaming pipelines. ● Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization. ● Continuously learn and explore new technologies relevant to large-scale data processing and distributed systems.

Skills and Attributes for Success ● 2–4 years of experience in data engineering. ● Strong programming skills in Scala, Java, or Python. ● Hands-on experience or strong exposure to Apache Spark for batch or streaming data processing. ● Good understanding of SQL, Hive, and data modeling concepts. ● Experience working with Kafka or other messaging and event-streaming systems is preferred. ● Understanding of distributed systems and Big Data technologies. ● Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. ● Familiarity with tools such as Presto, Delta Lake, Airflow, or similar technologies is a plus. ● Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, Databricks, or EMR is an added advantage. ● Experience or interest in AdTech, campaign analytics, attribution, or large-scale consumer platforms is a plus.

Preferred Education & Experience ● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. ● 2–4 years of relevant experience in software development, backend engineering, data engineering, or building large-scale data systems.
