Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Yard Mule & Equipment Operator to manage vehicle movement within our facility. In this role, you will safely move trailers and trucks around the company yard. You will operate yard mules, day cab trucks, and sleeper trucks. All driving is strictly confined to company property. No over-the-road (OTR) driving is required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial driving experience who no longer maintains an active CDL.

Key Responsibilities Move Equipment: Safely maneuver yard mules, day cabs, and sleeper trucks within the yard. Position Trailers: Spot and back trailers to designated loading docks, parking spaces, and staging areas. Inspect Vehicles: Perform basic pre-shift inspections of yard equipment to ensure safe operation. Coordinate Logistics: Work closely with the warehouse and dispatch teams to prioritize equipment moves. Maintain Safety: Strictly adhere to all facility safety protocols and speed limits. Secure Loads: Ensure trailers are properly chocked and stabilized when parked.

Qualifications and Skills Driving Experience: Proven experience operating commercial motor vehicles (CMVs), large trucks, or yard tractors. CDL Background: Previous CDL-A or CDL-B driving experience is required to ensure familiarity with large vehicle handling. License Status: A current, active CDL is not required, as vehicles are operated 100% off public roads. Spatial Awareness: Exceptional backing and maneuvering skills in tight spaces. Physical Stamina: Ability to frequently climb in and out of truck cabs throughout the shift. Communication: Clear communication skills to coordinate safely with yard ground crew and warehouse staff.
