Manual QA Tester

The Manual QA Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of software applications through comprehensive manual testing. The role designs and executes test scenarios, identifies and documents defects, validates fixes, and supports regression and release testing. The position works closely with Product, Development, Business Analysis, and Delivery teams to prevent defects, improve test coverage, and support timely, high-quality releases.

Education/ Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing, preferably in web-based or enterprise applications.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or equivalent tools preferred.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman is preferred.

Skills and Ability:

- Strong understanding of software testing principles, QA processes, defect lifecycle, and industry-standard testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in creating comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a systematic approach to identifying, analyzing, reproducing, and troubleshooting software defects.
- Ability to understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria and translate them into effective and comprehensive test coverage.
- Experience in testing web-based applications, including cross-browser compatibility, responsive UI, functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or equivalent tools.
- Exposure to test automation concepts or hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks and tools will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of Jira or similar defect/project tracking tools.
- Experience with API testing, Postman, SQL/database validation, or automation testing concepts is a plus.

Work Conditions/ Physical Demands:

This position is performed primarily in an office work environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. The role requires regular use of a keyboard, mouse, monitor, phone, and other standard office equipment. The employee must be able to communicate effectively through video conferencing, phone, email and other electronic communication tools.
