Requirements

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester / SDET to join our QA team. on a 12m Fixed Term Contract basis. This role combines automation expertise with hands-on manual testing, including test design, execution, automation framework development, and continuous testing practices.

In the role, the successful candidate will:

- Support both manual and automated testing activities
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

About you

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:

- 5+ years' experience in a QA role with strong experience in both manual and automation testing.
- Proven experience updating and maintaining enterprise-scale test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in designing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases and test suites.
- Good understanding of Quality Engineering, testing strategy, and governance.
- Experience implementing and managing testing initiatives across web, API, and desktop platforms.
- Proven experience integrating testing into Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD delivery models.
- Experience implementing AI-powered testing capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing practices.
- Excellent communication skills within enterprise environments.

Technical Expertise - MUST HAVE

- Java-based automation development using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.
- Relational database query development using SQL, DB2, or equivalent query languages.
- CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Git.
- Cloud technologies including Azure or AWS with experience testing cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Experience working as part of a Scrum team, actively participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Experience in Stockbroking, Banking or Finance sector

NICE TO HAVE

- API automation using REST Assured or equivalent frameworks.
- AI-driven testing approaches including self-healing automation, AI-assisted test generation, and intelligent defect analysis.
- Contract testing (PACT), service virtualisation, and integration testing methodologies.
- Performance testing and engineering using tools such as JMeter, k6, or LoadRunner.
- Salesforce platform testing across integrated business applications.
- This specification is suitable for a SDET or Automation Tester responsible for designing and implementing quality automation excellence and AI-enabled testing practices.
