Shipping Supervisor

JOB DUTIES:

- Supervises activities of employees engaged in shipping, loading, and unloading of trucks

- Supervises at multiple plant locations depending on daily workload

- Oversees packing and distribution of finished goods

- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements

- Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs

- Meets warehouse operational standards

- All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS and education requirements:

- 3+ years of supervisory experience required; Shipping experience strongly preferred

- Knowledge of warehouse software packages (MS NAV preferred) and scanning equipment

- Proficiency in MS Office

- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data

- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Hands-on commitment to getting the job done in a safe manner

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations

- Strong organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL Environment & Requi rements:

- Plant/Production facility, occasionally outside, or in-store; Possible extreme heat/cold dependent on season

- Continuously requires ability to follow verbal and/or written direction

- Frequently requires walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling (up to 200lbs), bending, and crouching

- Occasionally requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, climbing and handling

- May require ability to operate machinery, drive vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift) or use equipment such as hand tools, computers, or general business equipment

- CDL license or tug/forklift certification may be required
