Hospital Assistant II - Radiology

UCLA Health is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Hospital Assistant to support our MRI Radiology team. In this role, you’ll work alongside MRI technologists and other members of the care team to help prepare patients, maintain a safe and organized environment, and keep daily operations running smoothly.

As a Hospital Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the technical team behind the scenes.

What you'll do:

- Assist MRI technologists with patient preparation, positioning, and room setup.
- Support MR safety screening and help educate patients on MRI procedures and safety requirements.
- Assist patients with moving on and off MRI examination tables, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Prepare and maintain MRI rooms and equipment areas so they are clean, safe, organized, and fully stocked.
- Process standard documentation and patient information using CareConnect and the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Assist with verification of image data archival through GE PACSNET/Centricity.
- Help maintain an efficient workflow by anticipating the needs of technologists and patients.
- Provide compassionate, respectful assistance to patients and families throughout their visit.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, attentive to detail, comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and committed to providing excellent patient care. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with MRI technologists, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

You may be required to rotate to other imaging locations staff by UCLA Health.

Salary Range: $26.79 - $35.36/Hourly

Requirements:

- BCLS certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
- Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
- Skill in performing all daily tasks independently and with minimal supervision.
- Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions.
- Ability to prioritize work and provide frequent updates to the technical staff. Ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion.
- Ability to be flexible with working hours given adequate notice.
- Ability to rotate to WWH/SMH and all Outpatient MR Sections as needed.
- Ability to adhere to Department policies and procedures.
- Ability to adhere to Department attendance standard.
- Ability to demonstrate a consistent professional appearance.
- Ability to maintain a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to maintain patient modesty, privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Ability to read and communicate in standard English to collect and clearly convey information to patients, technologists and medical staff.
- Will assist in providing a language interpreter if appropriate.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CareConnect EMR System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Demonstrated knowledge of GE PACSNET - Centricity computer and workstation.
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
