Senior CWMD Research Analyst

The Capabilities, Analysis and Development (CAD) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior CWMD Research Analyst to provide analysis support for research and development of leading edge data products for countering weapons of mass destruction. The ideal candidate is excited for new challenges, interested in working with users to characterize and solve their data science challenges, and undaunted by deep data management tasks from a wide variety of datasets/sources.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data analysis to support R&D assessments for client requests.

- Collaborating with the data science team and other analysts to analyze data, draft data presentation and information for client reports.

- Performing study and research for online materials to resolve information gaps, eliminate ambiguities, capture and share relevant findings.

- Delivering products that increase the clients situational understanding and comprehension of WMD, improvised threats, and associated counter-proliferation networks.

- Providing recommendations for further research.

- The candidate is expected to make senior level presentations to government staff and to make recommendations on future research.

- The position requires the ability to apply language, cultural, technical, and regional context to determine the significance of information. The analyst will provide more than direct translation.

- Identifying terminology that may be mistranslated or overlooked by automated translation systems.

- Interpreting technical abbreviations, colloquialisms, organizational terminology, and context-dependent language

- Conducting Farsi-language research and discovery.

- Comparing Farsi-language reporting with English-language and other sources

- Recognizing linguistic or cultural indicators that may reveal relationships or activities not apparent through conventional English-language research.

Required Experience:

- Masterss degree in related fields of research analysis.

- Must be a US Citizen.

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Intelligence Community data science and analysis.

- Professional-level Farsi language proficiency with the ability to conduct research and analysis using Farsi-language sources.

- Demonstrated experience conducting all-source, open-source, or intelligence research and analysis.

- Current Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information based on a current and valid Single Scope Background Investigation

Desired Qualifications:

- Minimum 15 years of experience

- All-source intelligence analysis; counterproliferation or CWMD missions; Iran-focused regional or technical analysis; nuclear fuel-cycle or missile-program analysis; chemical or biological sciences; supply-chain and procurement analysis; illicit or sanctions-evasion networks; commercial digital ecosystem data; geospatial analysis; link and network analysis; data science or operations research; scientific and technical intelligence; publicly available information exploitation; or advanced analytic visualization.

- Familiarity with analytic tools such as GIS platforms, link-analysis software, Python, SQL, visualization platforms, or large-scale data environments is also desirable.

Compensation & Benefits: Pay Ranges: From $100,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year based on years of experience, degree and any special skills and knowledge that you may bring to the position. We mostly reserve the upper half of our compensation bands for internal growth.
