Software Engineer II - Java, Springboot, React

Job responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for web applications and backend services.
- Build frontend features using React, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and component-based user interface patterns.
- Develop and support Java / Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL, and backend application components.
- Write secure, high-quality, maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers.
- Participate in technical troubleshooting to identify, analyze, and resolve application issues of basic to moderate complexity.
- Apply Software Development Life Cycle tools and practices to support automation, code quality, testing, and delivery efficiency.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code review processes, and modern software delivery practices.
- Analyze application data, logs, and system behavior to help identify issues and support stable application development.
- Learn and apply engineering standards, system processes, development methodologies, and secure coding practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, operations, and engineering team members to deliver business-aligned technology solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, knowledge sharing, and team learning activities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied software engineering experience.
- Hands-on software engineering experience through professional roles, internships, academic projects, or relevant project work.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL, and microservices..
- Frontend development experience with React.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend build tooling such as Vite, Webpack, or equivalent.
- Experience developing component-based, responsive, and maintainable user interfaces.
- Baseline understanding of application design, agile delivery, CI/CD, resiliency, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Exposure to testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit, Playwright, React Testing Library, smoke testing, integration testing, or similar.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern deployment practices.
- Developing proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and supporting production-grade systems.
- Good communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.
- Proficiency in coding in one or more programming languages.
- Overall understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

- Experience or interest in payments, financial services, or high-volume transaction platforms.
- Familiarity with modern frontend technologies, reusable components, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
- Exposure to microservices-based architecture and full-stack application development.
- Exposure to AWS or similar cloud technologies and cloud-native design concepts.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture, messaging platforms such as Kafka, API gateways, GraphQL, or distributed integration patterns.
- Interest in building end-to-end full-stack features using React and Java / Spring Boot services.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools and automation across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, performance analysis, production support, and secure-by-design engineering practices.
