DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Roadway / Highway Intern, Summer 2027 to join our growing Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, or Tallahassee, FL office. As a part of our Civil Engineering team, the Intern will assist with various departments in technical duties and projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.

- Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks.

- Draft details and make MicroStation / Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD revisions.

- Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member.

- Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Currently enrolled and in good academic standing, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field, at an ABET accredited University or College

- Minimum of some secondary completed coursework in students’ field of study.

- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.

- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

- MicroStation / Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD software experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Valid U.S. Driver’s license.

- Ability to lift up to 30lbs. and assist in field inspections, including working outside in varying weather conditions.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $20 - $25 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
