Engineering Supervisor, NUS (Network Underground Services)

Job Summary

The Network Underground Services (NUS) Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing statewide leadership and direction for the Network Underground Design Team. The successful candidate must live within commutable distance to 829 Jefferson St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

The ES leads the NUS Design team by fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability, and employee development. This role provides leadership for employee coaching, onboarding, performance management, and the overall planning, design, estimating, coordination, and lifecycle management of NUS projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design team supporting customer, asset management, and capital projects.
- Oversee project intake, prioritization, workload management, design completion, and construction package readiness.
- Ensure estimates, documentation, and project records align with compliance, billing, and capital/O&M requirements.
- Monitor project performance, budgets, governance to support cost-effective execution.
- Partner with Distribution, Transmission, GIS, Construction, Key Account Managers, External Affairs, city officials, customers, and other stakeholders to support project execution and resolve issues.
- Develop employees through onboarding, coaching, field exposure, technical training, and ongoing performance feedback.
- Drive accountability for project follow-up, issue resolution, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support storm restoration efforts on and off-system as requested.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.

Experience

- Proven commitment and demonstrated focus on Safety.
- Formal supervisory experience, including performance management and leadership of teams across multiple work locations is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of Distribution and/or Transmission experience is required.
- Coordination complex work across engineering, construction, operations, customers, and external partners is preferred.
- Development of employees through coaching, onboarding, training, or stretch assignments is preferred.
- Managing capital and O&M budgets is preferred.
- Coordination of complex work across engineering, construction, T&D, customers, and external partners is preferred.
- Experience presenting large or complex projects through DPRT, T&D, or similar governance processes is highly desired.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex project, design, budget, and stakeholder issues clearly.
- Leads change effectively and provides steady direction through shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of Power Delivery and NUS operations, processes, tools, and design standards preferred.
- Ability to build strong relationships and develop a high-performing team.
- Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects, competing priorities, and changing business needs with limited direction.
- Ability to use project data, trackers, and reporting tools to monitor workload, identify risks, and support leadership visibility.

Other Requirements

- Valid Driver's License.
- Travel is sometimes required, up to 25% of the time.
- Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Atlanta

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:

- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
