Position Summary

The Architect within the Aptiv LINC Middleware organization is responsible for defining the technical vision, architecture, and evolution of the Aptiv LINC platform. This role provides technical leadership across middleware services, platform infrastructure, software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures, cloud-connected vehicle solutions, and next-generation automotive software platforms.

The Architect collaborates with product management, OEM customers, engineering teams, system architects, and external partners to drive scalable, deterministic, secure, and portable middleware solutions supporting multiple vehicle domains including ADAS, Body, Connectivity, Cockpit, and Central Compute systems. Aptiv LINC emphasizes cross-domain middleware, API-first development, hardware abstraction, communication frameworks, execution management, diagnostics, OTA, containerization, and edge intelligence capabilities

Responsibilities

- Define and maintain the overall technical architecture of the Aptiv LINC middleware platform.
- Drive architectural direction for Communication Middleware, Platform services for maintaining lifecycle, health, state and storage management of SDV, OTA update management, diagnostics management and vehicle data management.
- Define service oriented and event driver architectural patterns.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple global engineering teams.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices and architectural governance.
- Review technical proposals, customer requirements, and product roadmaps.
- Lead architecture reviews, design assessments and mentor juniors
- Engage directly with OEM customers to understand platform requirements and future SDV needs.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

- 12+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in software architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Experience delivering large-scale middleware or platform software products.
- Knowledge of safety, cybersecurity and quality processes
- Strong automotive software domain expertise.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

- C++ and modern software architecture
- Linux and POSIX systems
- Real-time and distributed systems
- Middleware frameworks
- Service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Event-driven architectures
- CI/CD and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Aptiv LINC platform components.
- Expertise in AUTOSAR Adaptive and Classic architectures.
- Experience with container orchestration frameworks.
- Familiarity with AADL, SysML, and model-based engineering.
- Experience with SDV architectures and central compute platforms.
- Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience supporting OEM engagements and technical business development activities.
- Publications, patents, conference presentations, or open-source contributions.
